Hyacinth River   Leave a comment

The weather has been great this week — though that’s soon to end, with a possible heat wave predicted.  I’m taking advantage of it while it lasts, though, and got three rides in this week.  The third was with Marion, and it had to be short because I had banking to do.

We went up as far as the spot on the river we call the beach — though it’s a pretty rocky beach.

The Kern was a river of water hyacinths instead of water as far as we could see, whether we looked upstream . . .

I took Marion’s picture . . .

She took mine.

Notice Peaches’ shadow.  It looks like she’s dangling upside down from Kitty’s tummy.  The only actual dog parts you see are her four paws.

We spent yesterday making strawberry jam — but more about that tomorrow.
