We looked downriver to see an all too familiar sight.

That’s the fourth — or fifth, depending on whether the first fire ignited the second — fire since March 28.  There can’t be much left down there to burn.  I hope that the firebug doesn’t move upriver when he’s got everything down there burned.

Here are Peaches and Xena, exhausted from firewatch.  Or at least exhausted.  Being a ranch dog is a heavy responsibility; you have to get a lot of sleep.

They’ll be all ready for the night’s vigil.  Or a night spent sleeping on the foot of the bed.
