No Power — and No Car!   Leave a comment

We lost power a little after noon today, on both sides of the property.  That’s unusual, because they’re on different lines, and seldom are both out at once.  It’s a bit of a panic when they are, because both wells are out.   Luckily, it was back on in about an hour.  It’s really hot today, and no power = no cooler.

Boarder/mechanic Johnny took my car to the transmission doctor this morning.  We are still waiting to hear the news, good or bad.  I hope the little blue Beetle has a few more years left in her.

Other than that, nothing much is going on.  We don’t get many riders in the hot weather, and those who do come out are (very sensibly) gone by noon.  There will be more people out this evening.  The weather has cooled off more in the late afternoon than it will later in the real summer.

I had an unexpected iris on the porch.  This blue and white beauty never opened fully, but there are more buds on the stem.  Maybe the next one will.

I’m off to watch the 5 o’clock news.  I want to hear more about the Bakersfield kitty who rescued the little boy by chasing off the dog attacking him.  It’s a remarkable video.
