First Frost   Leave a comment

It was chilly last night, and this morning we had our first frost.  It wasn’t a heavy frost, let alone a freeze, but it did frost some of the fallen leaves.

It stayed cool all day, and the sky was clear and blue.  Most of the leaves are gone from the cottonwoods now, and the pale branches are silver against the sky.

It’s supposed to be colder yet tonight, but we’re as ready as we can be.  Sister Sally e-mailed me to say that in St. Louis it was 68 today, but the predicted high for tomorrow was 35.  A 33 degree drop in one day; and a high of 26 with a low of 8 for the next day.

We’d better get that (unlikely) snow on Saturday, so I’ll have something to brag about.
