Last Regrowth?   Leave a comment

It’s discouraging to go out and look at the river right now, when it looks like this.


Still, if you look at the banks, you can see all of that new growth.


One of the last trees to show any recovery was this volunteer.  I think it’s some kind of elm.  It lost all its bark, and was a pale ghost of itself.  Today, though, I noticed new growth from the roots.


In fact, there are new little trees all around it, which have come up along the path of its roots.


All we need is some rain, and there’ll be an explosion of green this spring!

Help us out here, Mother Nature . . .
