Star Quality   1 comment

After a morning of torture housework, I got some time to go out and play with Bella.  It was hot, but not unbearable; there was a nice breeze, and all-in-all, the weather’s been very unBakersfield-like.  Usually, going out in the afternoon is an invitation to heat stroke.

It’s always fun to take pictures of Bella.  She has that elusive thing called “star quality”.  It’s hard to take a bad picture of her.

First, we went down to the round pen, where she could show her Real Welsh Pony trot.

Actually, she can trot a lot better than this, but all of the really showy shots were blurry.  I haven’t quite mastered the art of the action photo with this camera.

Next, we went for a walk.  I wanted to take her down to the burn.  None of the horses have shown a great deal of reaction to the area, and she was no exception.  She did condescend to strike a noble pose.

“See?  Aren’t I pretty?  Take another one!”

Yes, Bella, you are pretty.  And maybe a bit vain!

On a more serious note, son Scott is back at home and doing fine.  He’s had a lot of tests — more today — but so far all negative.  He’s been working on losing weight, and has shed quite a few pounds.  That can help you feel a lot better; I should know!
