It has not been the kind of day to be outside; all morning it was windy and cold, with periods of drizzle.  This afternoon, it’s warmer, but still windy.  So here are a couple of pictures from a few days ago . .

Note the white spot in the right background of this river shot.


Zoom in on it, and it’s a meditating egret.  Meditating on the scarcity of frogs, no doubt.


Unfortunately, if you look in the upper left, you will also see part of a homeless camp.  There are blue tarps all over the riverbed.

A prettier picture — the monkeyflowers are blooming.


Monkeyflowers like the river as much as the transients do — but they’re a lot neater.
