A Trip to Long Beach   Leave a comment

I forgot to say I wasn’t going to blog yesterday.  My friends Peggy and Marion, and I, went to Long Beach to check out a yarn store there.

We had a great time, despite getting lost a couple of times.  We checked out the Alamitos Bay Yarn Company store, then went to eat in the neighboring restaurant.  It was really good.  Here is Peggy . . .

And Marion and I . . .

. . . just before we enjoyed crab-stuffed salmon, pilaf, green beans and a brownie sundae by the marina.

Feeling stuffed ourselves, we headed back to the yarn store and made our selections.  This is what I got.

On the left, The Unique Sheep’s Ling in the Nature Walk colorway.  On the right, Mountain Colors’ Twizzle in Mountain Tango.  Both are Merino (that’s the very finest of sheep’s wool, for you non-knitters) and silk blends.  They are gorgeous.

I’m not sure what they’ll be, but whatever it is will be glorious.

Then we headed for home — only getting slightly lost this time — and made it back to good old Bakersfield before the storm.  Such as it was.

We had a great time, and we might even do it again some time.
