Missing Cider   Leave a comment

When you’ve lost an old dog that you’ve had for many years, it takes a while before you quit expecting to see her lying in her familiar place when you walk out the door.  At least we have pictures to remember her by.

Whether she was patiently being beautified . . .

Stubbornly lying in exactly the wrong place . . .

Or trying out the winter ice for flavor . . .

Or telling us that there was a stranger driving in, or a funny-looking person walking through, or a horse loose at midnight . . .

No matter what she was doing, she was a great dog.
