Day at the Bank   1 comment

I was going to spend the afternoon driving Kody after doing shopping and banking in the morning, but when I got home we discovered that there was a Very Large discrepancy in our accounts.  Billy and I dashed up to the bank, and the lady at customer services explained that the money had been credited to the wrong account — but it was there.

So we went home, but on double checking, found that the explanation did not cover the problem.  Back we  went, and finally talked to a senior lady, who confirmed our suspicions.  The money that was supposed to have been transferred last month from our savings to Billy’s checking, had instead gone into my checking.  So I had lots of money, and he’d been writing checks on a nearly empty account.

The bank covered the checks he had written, thank goodness — they included property taxes — so no harm was done except to our nerves.  You can bet we’ll be watching more closely to see which account our deposits go into.

So the afternoon was spent at the bank, instead of driving.  By the time we got everything straightened out, it was nearly feed time and people were arriving to ride.  I’ve promised Billy I won’t go zipping through the boarders with my pony and cart; the horses who haven’t been here long don’t take it at all well.

Anyway, here’s a pretty picture to make up for a very dull entry.  Quite of the few boarders have little gardens around their tack rooms; here’s a canna lily from one of them.

Maybe I’ll get out there to drive tomorrow . . .
